Windy Hill German Shepherds is a breeder of quality West-German show and working line dogs. We are located in beautiful south eastern Pennsylvania at the foot of the Blue Mountains, a land dotted with fields and woodland. We are only a short 66 miles from Philadelphia and 44 miles from Harrisburg.

At Windy Hill, we treat each and every dog as an individual. Therefore we only keep a limited number of dogs to ensure each dog gets the care it needs and deserves. The health and temperament of our dogs are of utmost importance. Our dogs are part of our family.

Because we breed West-German working and show bloodlines, we are able to produce dogs of all energy levels and drive in order to give you the perfect pet, sport or protection dog. Between 6 and 8 weeks of age, we evaluate each puppy's temperament in order to give you the perfect match for your lifestyle. High energy dogs for Schutzhund and SAR and medium energy for the average family wanting a calm easy going pet.

Here at Windy Hill we believe that training as well as character development and socialization start at the very beginning. The dogs selected for our breeding program all have good solid pedigrees. Each dog's hips have been certified with PennHip, which some breeders would argue is now gaining ground on the OFA. Our dogs are examined on a regular basis by a veterinarian. Since the health of our dogs is of utmost importance we exercise them on a regular basis and feed them food free from corn, wheat and soy.

All puppies are sold up to date on vaccines, dewormer and with a 1 year health guarantee. Our puppies come to you socialized, exercised and loved. The number one goal of our breeding program is to give you the dog of your dreams.

To say that we are more than happy to have gotten the newest member of our family, Olivia (aka “Ollie”), from Windy Hill would definitely be an understatement. Josh’s web-site, providing weekly photos and videos of the puppies as they developed, was really great. It is obvious that Ollie and her litter-mates have been raised with tender, loving care. The fact that she has been raised with cats and other canine visitors has been evident from the fact that she adapted so well to her new home and to our two cats. The family environment at Windy Hill has made for a puppy who enjoys being around people and has such a gentle, accepting nature. Meet Dovakhiin! His name means dragon born.
I had been looking for a new furry companion and found Windy Hills German Shepard's off the AKC website. I was really hoping to find an all black shepherd, and when I saw the pictures of these little pups I was very excited to contact Joshua and gather information about them. He was easy to get a hold of and easy to talk to. He had all the information I needed and after a few days I decided to drive 4.5 hours just to meet my new friend! We were greeted warmly by the family and were given extra information about the puppy himself. He's adapting to his new home very well and we love him to pieces!! I would definitely recommend windy hills to anyone looking for a German shepherd puppy.

We learned about Windy Hill German Shepherds via the AKC website. We were looking for a German Shepherd for several months. We had visited and contacted several breeders listed under AKC. We were drawn to the Windy Hill German Shepherd website which displayed pictures of dam, sire and puppies as well as videos and details of what they offered. We contacted Joshua the breeder and set up a visit to go out and see the puppies which were close to 8 weeks old. When we arrived, we were greeted with care and warmth. Fortunately for us the puppies were wide awake when we arrived and not in their sleepy stage. All the puppies were beautiful, playful, friendly and energetic. The area was well kept.
